Summary:  John and paul do a concert with elton john in 1974 (based on the real show)

john and paul had both stopped writing and recording since brian and there new born julia was born but after a little visit from Elton John a good friend of theirs they agreed to make an album but just for fun. Elton absolutely loved the two songs they recorded but neither john or paul thought they were that good so Elton made a bet that if the new song “whatever gets you thru the night” gets to number1 they would do a show. So john and paul thinking that that would never happened agreed but as elton predicted it did and now thanksgiving were back stage for the first time since the beatles.

*john was nervous as hell putting gum in his mouth like there was no tomorrow*
paul are you sure we can do this? in only 3 songs we’re gonna be on.

*paul nervously taps his foot* yeah we are gonna be okay john *paul chews his thumbnail*

*john chews even faster as the last song before they come in starts to play*

*paul takes his guitar and holds it tight, his beloved old reliable guitar* you ready? *paul says to john*

*john takes his guitar, not the old one but a new one paul got him and puts it on* yeah. *john kisses paul as the song finishes and elton beings the introduction to them*

Since it’s thanksgiving i thought we could make tonight a bit of a joys occasion by inviting some people on to the stage. I’m sure that it’ll be no surprise when i say it’s a great privilege to welcome misters John and Paul mclennon!

*paul gives john a grin before they enter on the stage, waving at the crowd as they go wild, paul glances at john and at elton*

*elton smiles at them and john teasingly does a little part from i feel fine which only makes the crowd go even wilder*

*paul nudges john from with his elbow as he laughs and he starts to get ready for the song, putting his hands on the chords, he looks at john and elton to say are you ready?*

*elton nods at john and john begins the song*

*paul joins them as they all start to sing together, doing a spectacular, perfect job. The crowd wasnt this wild since shea stadium concert where they could barely be heard from the screaming*

*but this time they were heard and even tho john was so nervous that he was sick he still did a great job on the song which soon was over and elton went on to do the intro for the next one*

Now we’re gonna do a number written by these two gentlemens right here *john smiles at paul* and it happens to be my favorite so i want you to blow the roof off for this one, come on! *the crowd goes wild*

*paul grins at john as he raises his eyebrows and nods also telling him they were doing great with his eyes, he puts his hands on the chords waiting for him*

*elton starts the begins piano chords and soon john begins singing*

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes…..

*they continue playing as the crowd joins them slowly, but they still can be heard, they play like they never quit and they have been practicing everyday for years*

*this song ends as well and john goes up to the mic to do the last intro*

Thanks everybody, we would like to thank elton and the boys for having me and this one *john pulls paul closer to him by the hips* on the show tonight and we’ve been trying to think of a number to finish the show off so since i’m the sick one i’ll let the pretty one do the next number for us. *john smiles and kisses paul for the first time infront of the fans*

*paul kisses john as the crowd go wild, paul smiles at john and winks at him after they pull away* hello *paul says to the mic and the crowd goes wild, he laughs and puts his hands on the crowd* this is for all the 17 year olds out there *paul says as he strums once and and starts to play and sing*

*but john plays a little trick on paul and as they sing the chores both him and elton sing*

So how could I dance with another (ooh)
When I saw him standin’ there?

*paul smiles as they join them, singing more passionately with john and elton. Paul winks at john and elton as the chorus ends and he sings alone again before the chorus starts again*

*they keep singing with the new chores and as the song end john quickly takes off his guitar, runs up to paul and gives him a cinematic kiss*

*paul laughs in the kiss and wraps his hands around john’s waist quickly before the kiss ends, he looks at john grinning and gazing into his eyes*

*the crowd goes completely wild this being the first time they’ve seen a mclennon kiss live. but soon john pulls away smiles and waves to the crowd, he takes paul’s hand, they hug elton and leave*

*paul smiles at john* that wasn’t half bad was it?

*john smiles back at paul* yeah better than i expected.
